Consequences (Genesis 21:1-20)Chris Mawson, 18 January, 2015
Part of the Summer 2015: Families series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Part 3 of Chris Mawson's 4 week series on the family using stories of Sarah and Hagar from Genesis 12,15-17, 21 and Ethiopian Eunuch from Acts 8:26-40. In this message Chris unpacks Sarah's actions and Gods graciousness to Hagar and Ishmael. Bible stories are important to our understanding of God, our faith, ourselves, and our world. They portray real flesh and blood human beings struggling with their history, fallibility and sinfulness, and struggling for their survival and a future for their children. We also see fragile and broken people stepping up to do what is right. Through this we glimpse God’s grace and healing as he silently touches their wounds and learn something of God’s ways of working in broken places.
