Discipleship at SBC
The ministry of discipleship at SBC happens primarily in small groups, which have a dual function of discipleship and pastoral care. Each has its own focus and ‘feel’. Everyone is encouraged to belong to a small group.
We believe that everyone matters to God and a culture of belonging and inclusivity is fostered with a strong acceptance of people with divergent backgrounds and traditions.
Group members represent a wide range of ages as well as a wide range of Christian journeys. Some are long term members and there is a welcome for those who drop in for the first time.

Hard Questions/Red Wine Group @ Sewell’s in Balgowlah Heights, 8pm – 9.30pm
We encourage exploration of some of the hard questions about belief and unbelief that the church has to face in a post-modern scientific age. This means we also welcome differences of opinion and each other’s life journey. Sometimes a DVD or a book is reviewed and thoughtfully dissected. We enjoy sharing camaraderie and personal stories, along with a glass of Shiraz or a cuppa’. For more information, please contact Doug Sewell.
